Transgender Man Plays for GWU Women's Basketball Team

21 year-old Kye Allums has made waves as he challenges traditional constructions of gender. The George Washington University Junior has made history as the first openly transgender basketball player.

Allums was born female, but prefers to be addressed as a man. He has forgone hormone treatments in order to continue playing basketball at GW.
