Oklahoma Country DA Files Additional Charges Against Accused Rapist Daniel Holtzclaw

Daniel Holtzclaw, the Oklahoma City police officer accused of sexually assaulting women while on duty, is facing more charges.

Earlier this year, officials charged Holtzclaw, 27, with 26 counts of rape, sexual battery, indecent exposure and forcible oral sodomy after several women came forward, claiming the officer assaulted them while they were in custody or inside his police car.



On Tuesday, the district attorney filed six additional counts against Holtzclaw. The latest charges included three counts of first-degree rape, forcible oral sodomy, sexual battery and second-degree rape.

Despite several victims coming forward, Holtzclaw maintains his innocence.

“He’s upset he is where he is and denies he did any of this stuff,” said Scott Adams, Holtzclaw’s attorney.

“We’re hoping this doesn’t affect public trust, but we know that it can,” said Capt. Dexter Nelson, with the Oklahoma City Police Department.

A preliminary hearing is set for Nov. 17.
