Meet the women who make For Harriet possible.



Kimberly Foster is the founder and editor-in-chief of For Harriet. She began the site while a student a Harvard University to create a space where Black women with varied lived experiences could come together to discuss the issues that matter to us. Michelle Denise Jackson is a writer, storyteller, performer, and content creator from Southern California. She serves as Senior Editor at For Harriet. She received her B.A. from NYU's Gallatin School of Individualized Study. This fall, she will be pursuing her MFA in Writing for Screen and Television at USC's School of Cinematic Arts. Deonna Anderson is a visual journalist and copywriter. She serves as the Junior Editor at For Harriet. The Los Angeles native earned her B.A. at the University of California, Davis. Naadeyah Haseeb is a writer and aspiring novelist from Raleigh, North Carolina. She has a background in science with many years of lab research experience and interests in neuroscience, pharmacology, and mental health. Alexis Jackson is a recent graduate of Vanderbilt University. She is a visual artist and writer whose work examines the histories and complexities of systematic racism in America. Joneka Percentie is a junior at UNC Charlotte and is passionate about complex and diverse representations of Black women in the media. When she's not working with For Harriet, she enjoys blogging with SPARK Movement, singing with her sisters, and dancing along to Beyoncé concert videos. Joneka hopes to encourage teen girls to express themselves through writing and art and embrace their unique identities.
