Ellie Hylton Graduates With Highest GPA at Harvard College

Harvard University's reputation for academic excellence and seminal scholarship attracts some of the most promising students from around the world. But within the ranks of those who choose to attend, a few students rise to the top.

In May, Ethel "Ellie" Hylton graduated Summa Cum Laude with a degree in Sociology. Hylton was inducted into the Phi Beta Kappa Society last fall.

Hylton won the Sophia Freund prize which is given to the student with the highest overall GPA in her graduating class.

The Hylton family clearly prizes academic excellence. Her mother and father graduated from Harvard Magna Cum Laude in 1982.

Next year Hylton will work as a public policy research associate. Congratulations, Ellie!
