About the N.W.A. Movie's Racist, Sexist and Classist Casting Call

Today a casting call for the upcoming N.W.A. movie "Straight Outta Compton" circulated the internet, and it is clear that casting for this film will do nothing to budge Hollywood's systemic racism and classism--which of course is merely a reflection of that which perpetuates our society as a whole.

Whenever things like these make the rounds, someone always attempts to explain away what we're seeing isn't a clear demonstration of white supremacy.

There's nothing coincidental about the "hottest of the hot" being classified as Group A and Group D consisting of poor African American girls who are "medium to dark."  Sande Allesi Casting drew a correlation between a woman's proximity to whiteness and her value.

And, of course, the one explicit mention of dark-skinned women is juxtaposed next to "poor" and "not in shape."

Take a look at the casting call and share your thoughts!
