34-Year-Old New York Woman Dies After Botched Silicone Butt Injections

Kelly Mayhew died at the age of 34 after receiving silicone butt injections from an unlicensed practitioner.

A friend connected Mayhew to a woman in Queens that would perform the procedure. Mayhew and her mother made the drive from Maryland for the silicone injections. Shortly into the procedure, Mayhew experienced difficulty breathing and was rushed to the hospital. Mayhew's mother attempted CPR as the woman fled from the home.

Medical examiners have not determined her cause of death, and detectives are still in search for the woman that gave her the injections along with the friend that connected her to Mayhew. Mayhew's unfortunate passing adds to the list of deaths from black market silicone injections that have been reported across Alabama, Georgia, Florida, Pennsylvania, Nevada and New York.
